Is it a 40yr old thing . Saw an S1 in a shop for a tenner, and bought it. My brother had one as a kid, and I used to play on it, saw these in a shop at Christmas, but didn't get one then. When I went shopping with the family I mentioned seeing it before and was urged to buy it as it'd been reduced in price.

After a couple of hours of "messing" thought I'd Google it and found this site.

I'm a New Yorker. I found the stylophone over the Xmas holiday 2009 through the Urban Outfitters holiday catalog and I have been obsessed with it since. I am buying all my friends one in order to not be the only one fanatic about it. It is still a new product here and most people have never heard of it unless they are a musician, maybe. I am trying to jumpstart a revolution to make it super popular again. I am a graphic designer by trade and am finding out new ideas to cater to my obsession. One idea I have is to revamp the shorthand for stylophone tabs. The numbers and dashes are fine but there should be shorthand for fast notes(sixteenths, quarter notes, etc.)as well as other music notations. I am not really a musician but through the stylophone I find myself enjoying learning music again after some failed attempts during Catholic school. I hope to post more songs here soon. I have an idea for a T-shirt line and products if Stylophone can let me use their logo. I will try to be in touch with the good Mr. Jarvis, but I'm also lazy and hope he reads this instead I also started posting songs on my flickr account www.flickr.com/photos/jpinlac/4274530726/ if anyone cares to visit.

Had a mate come up and stay for a few days last week, ended up impulse buying a Beatbox (he bought the S1) on a wander round the shops.

Went home, saw Brett's hiphop medley, gained a new hero.

Started a Stylophone band there and then.

We were pretty close to nailing Chad Jackson's "Hear The Drummer Get Wicked" and Nirvana's "Come As You Are" by the end of the day, unfortunately he's now on holiday so band practise is on the back burner.

Went out and bought myself an S1 today, and will be pressing him to invest in a Beatbox also.

From here on in, the only way is up

I am young, so I didn't lived its era, and I have to confess that it is now, after having it and looking for information I am seeing what it meant.

About me, I am mainly a Physics Science student in Madrid, Spain. I say mainly because I do a lot of other things, like playing the violin, acting, amateur astronomy...

A final note: I can't understand stylophone numbers sheets. I prefer classical sheets.
