Brett Domino xmas 2009 Hello Mistletoe

The awesomely cheesy 'Hello Mistletoe (goodbye cold snow)' is out to download from your favourite music site now!!! Check out the video too, which is a pure work of comedy genius and tells the heartbreaking story of a geek's unrequited love at Christmas through the medium of fromage (and look out for the Stylophone BeatBox making a cameo!)

Stylophone BeatBox hits the shops!

Stylophone BeatBox hits the shops!

This week should see the first ever Stylophone percussion instrument finally go on sale to the public worldwide. The Stylophone BeatBox is a pocket drum machine/percussion instrument based on the Stylophone mode of play.

Ben Jarvis of Dubreq Ltd says:
Even before we signed the deal with Re:creation that led to the S1, Dubreq had a desire to create a simple pocket percussion instrument to compliment the Stylophone. After the success of the S1 became apparent, Dubreq were asked directly if we could come up with some ideas for 'follow-on' products for the Stylophone brand, the BeatBox was the obvious first choice.

We looked at a lot of existing percussion instruments for inspiration on the BeatBox, but ultimately wanted to create something new and unique which is, after all, what the Stylophone brand is all about. It was after looking at steel drums that the idea of the circular 'wrap-around' keyboard came to us... the ability to slide between pads and 'draw' on the keyboard to set up repeating beats was the key idea behind the keyboard. The addition of the record/loop function also makes the BeatBox a unique and very useful little instrument.

The BeatBox features three all new voices, an electronic drum kit with useful percussion sounds, a human beat-box voice featuring the awesome talents of MC Zani, one of Europe's most accomplished beatboxers, and finally a 'bass' voice which give a bass melody option to allow you to play a bass line (or set up a repeating bass loop) to accompany another instrument, such as an S1!

The BeatBox will be available in the UK from all good Stylophone stockists online and on the high street for the dangerously reasonable price of £19.99(rrp). Check back regularly for stockist updates and look for upcoming promo videos featuring some well known Stylophonists using the new instrument!

Little Boots rocks Glasto' with Custom Stylophone!

Little Boots, the Stylophone's latest celebrity user, rocked Glastonbury this week with her custom made Stylophone S1. The electro-pop artist had been given a customised S1 last month as part of the VBS TV documentary on the history of the Stylophone, in which she was involved. The Stylophone was pretty prominent hanging round her neck on stage and got used for the intro to meddle, one of her signature tracks.

Dubreq create custom Stylophone for Little Boots
Friday, 22 May 2009 00:00

Dubreq have just finished a customised S1 Stylophone for electro-pop-princess Little Boots to use at an upcoming London gig.

The custom instrument came about as part of a documentary for VBS Television about the history of the Stylophone. Little Boots has been involved in the programme and came to visit the Dubreq team at the early stage of making the custom instrument.

The custom S1 features an acid-etched stainless steel grille on the front which has the Little Boots logo etched into it. It also has a custom made aluminium strap-loop on one end to allow Victoria to hang the S1 round her neck when she's on stage but not playing it. Dubreq hope this will be the first of a number of custom instruments made for Victoria and other musicians.
